Learn how to make the most of your digital camera and create better photographs by taking control of image creation and learning the basics of manual digital camera functions such as ISO settings, white balance, image resolution, shutter speeds and aperture settings. Classes will include hands- on assignments and students will look at historical and contemporary photographers to better inform their own process and learn about image aesthetics. Basic computer techniques for downloading and copying image files as well as uploading photos to file sharing and printing sites will also be covered. No photo editing skills will be covered in this class.

Intermediate students with a working knowledge of digital photography and Photoshop will learn advanced options within Adobe Photoshop CS3 to manipulate digital photographs such as levels, curves, layer masking, and complex retouching. Digital workflow and processing RAW images with the use of Camera Raw and Adobe Bridge will also be covered.
